The Bad Kitty has previously purred about Violet Wands – if you’re new to these wonderful devices then you may find it to be useful reading. Bad Kitty loves violet wands lots but there is more to electroplay.
Like many things BDSM related, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. If electroplay isn’t your bag then please don’t click the read more link. If you’re curious about it then please feel free to read on.
Violet Wands will always get a crowd at events and parties. Their look and sound guarantee that. The curious will see or hear the wand, come over and often want to try being zapped. Violet wands are a spectacle, a light and sound show. Sometimes when the Bad Kitty is using his wand at events he feels that there is a slight showman element there. After all, the Bad Kitty wants to spread the word about safe** electroplay.
For safe** electroplay (and any other kinky activity) you need to be aware of health considerations. There is a checklist further down. Much of it is obvious but bears repeating.
Recently the Bad Kitty discovered a conductive glove. A lovely bit of kit, this glove doesn’t pass any zap to its wearer so is great for secondary connection. Do make sure you have a good warm up before using this glove though.
As mentioned in Violet Electro Kitty, violet wands are used for sensation play on the surface of the skin. E-Stim uses EMS – Electro Muscle Stimulation – technology. As its name suggests, this has an effect on the muscles which the violet wand does not.
EMS is already in use in the medical and bodybuilding sectors. The Bad Kitty’s first exposure to E-Stim was in physiotherapy treatment for a nasty sports injury. E-Stim is often recommended by doctors who want their female patients to improve their pelvic floors and can also be used to treat period pain.
E-Stim isn’t as visual as a violet wand and doesn’t make any sound by itself but can and does make some very enjoyable feelings and get some fun sounds from people.
There are many things you can connect to an E-Stim box and a person:
- Insertables – vaginal, anal or urethral, ranging from small to eye-wateringly large
- Pinwheels – single and double
- Brushes – looks like a jazz drummer’s brush but boy is it good!
- Conductive rubber straps

There are remote control E-Stim boxes so you can give a zap at a distance and some are configurable from your computer. Zaps can be given manually, via a program, via a microphone and the type of zap can be tweaked too.
In short there is plenty that can be done with an E-Stim box!
At a well known fetish market the Bad Kitty was showing some of his E-Stim kit to a friend (the double pinwheel is a Bad Kitty favourite) when he suddenly noticed that there was a queue of people wanting to try being zapped.
The Bad Kitty is not going to refuse the requests of ladies loosening their tops and asking to have the pinwheel run over their breasts! This became something of a regular thing too – if the Bad Kitty was there, had he got his E-Stim stuff with him? It’s always nice to bring pleasure to people 😀
How Does It Feel?
This is the question which Bad Kitty probably gets asked the most. “Lovely!” is the Bad Kitty’s preferred response but a better answer is that it varies depending on what attachment is used, where it is used and what setting is used. Pads around the lower back can give a pain relieving zap; a pinwheel down the back can make you squirm; a clip on the clit can make you moan; brushes can make people purr. And if cranked right up any of them can make people scream, just as anything done at the most painful level can.
Electroplay isn’t that hardcore. It really is best to try it. If the Bad Kitty is around and has some of his E-Stim kit with him then all you need to do is ask!

**As with all kinky activities, safety should be taken seriously, even more so when electricity is involved. If you have any kind of heart issue, do not undertake any electroplay. High blood pressure should be well under management before undertaking electroplay. If you have any medical history which might cause issues or discomfort, be sure to discuss it with your play partners and advise them which areas to keep away from. Any metal implants, meshes, pins, plates, fillings and piercings will conduct electricity. As will steel boned corsets. Remember: the body uses electrical pulses to communicate. Unsafe use of E-Stim could interfere with that communication and cause major problems.

As with many things in the kink scene there are a lot of contradictory opinions out there.
